What we’ll explore

1

When everything feels like too much

Identify the demands taking up the most space and sort through what needs attention, what can wait, and what could be shared.

2

Noticing when you’re running low

Reflect on your own signs of overload and identify one realistic change or source of support.

3

Self-blame and the pressure to do more

Notice the expectations and “I should have” thoughts you may be carrying. Consider what is within your influence now and what you need help with.

4

Acceptance without a deadline

Make room for what you know today while allowing questions and mixed feelings. Acceptance does not mean giving up hope, stopping advocacy, or feeling okay about everything.

Reflection & practice tools

Tools to use during the workshop and return to afterward.

  • What’s Taking My Energy? reflection page.
  • My Signs of Overload check-in.
  • What Can Wait, Change, or Be Shared? worksheet.
  • One Request for Support practice.
  • Making Room for Where I Am optional reflection.

You don’t have to have it all together.

You can listen, write privately, participate, or pass on an activity. No one will be required to share personal experiences or discuss their child’s diagnosis.

Your experience matters, and so does your child’s dignity. We make room for the caregiver’s needs while respecting each child as a whole person.

Families of all faith backgrounds are welcome.

This workshop provides general education, guided reflection, and practical caregiver-support tools. It is not therapy, counseling, a mental-health assessment, or treatment. It does not provide individualized medical advice or service coordination.

For community organizations

Support for the caregivers your organization serves.

This workshop is available for organizations interested in offering parents and caregivers a practical space to reflect on overwhelm, acknowledge their own needs, and identify manageable support steps.

It is designed to complement—not replace—clinical care, navigation, or individualized family services. We can discuss your audience, priorities, format, and access considerations to determine whether it is a good fit.
